A Grown-Up Take on Pink at La Belle Juliette in Paris

Love pink but think it the hue is too young and girly? Think again. At the lovely La Belle Juliette hotel in Paris, designer Anne Gelbard chose a dusty pink that is still feminine but decidedly grown-up. Paired with taupe and a burst of orange (see below), it is a perfect color for a bedroom. Of course, you could choose it for a little girl or teen’s room too, but I love that it is sophisticated enough for an adult. The wall color was customized by Tollen paints for the hotel.

Inspired by the 19th-century French socialite Juliette Récamier, Gelbard designed the 34-room Left Bank hotel inspired by different phases of Juliette’s colorful life. The rooms are designed to feel like guest rooms in a chic townhouse–our kind of hotel.

If you can’t commit to pink walls, the reverse color scheme–taupey/beige walls with pops of pink is also pretty. What do you think of an upholstery panel placed like art above the bed? It’s such a great art idea that could be a cute DIY project.
