Bunking up at Tenuta Santo Pietro in Tuscany

After I posted on the cozy and colorful children’s rooms at the Kurland in South Africa many of you asked for more  hotels with rooms designed specifically for kids. It seems those of you with wanderlust and little ones too, love the idea of unique hotels that are designed with families in mind. Hotel designers take note! Creating gorgeous grown-up bedrooms along with fun (and less precious) rooms for children is an incredibly smart way to appeal to families.

Situated on a 72 acre working farm that boasts 12-acres of olive trees and a small winery, the charming Tenuta Santo Pietro in Tuscany was originally a monastery dating back to the 13th-century. The under-the-radar property recently underwent a 2 1/2  year renovation transforming it into a charming 12 room boutique hotel with an incredibly romantic vibe–plus a terrific bunk room for 4 that kids will love.

The view from the hotel…

The rooms at Tenuta Santo Pietro can be booked individually or you have the option of reserving the entire hotel  as a rental villa. It would be wonderful place to celebrate a milestone with friends and family…..

Here is one of the guest rooms. I love the combination of the rustic original details of the architecture, luxe Italian antiques, and beds you want to nestle up in.

My favorite space is the bunk room. The IKEA red and white striped rug adds the perfect pop of bold pattern and color. With room for 4 and storage drawers below, the bunks were made by a local craftsman out of noce wood. What kid wouldn’t love to spend the night here?

I love how bunk beds maximize space and also create these cool magical places for children. I remember begging for bunks when I was little (as my son is doing now). Inspired by the bunk room at the Tenuta Santo Pietro, I scoured  Pinterest for some amazing bunk rooms which I posted below. Enjoy!
