Heading to South Beach this winter?  The buzziest new hotel is the just-opened Thompson Miami Beach. The oceanfront property is now the Thompson brand’s flagship and features two pools, a rooftop indoor/outdoor spa,  and a restaurant from James Beard award winning chef Michelle Bernstein.  With 380 rooms it’s not the pick if you’re looking for a cozy, boutique hotel experience–but it is definitely going to be the it-hotel this season.

Love the sunny 1950s inspired design by British designer Martin Brudinski. It’s cheery and fun pairing bright colors and florals with mid-century silhouettes.

Two pools are set right near the Ocean. The revamped pool was originally built in the 1920s and was a hangout spot for stars of the day like Esther Williams. The private beachfront features cabanas and a garden for guests.
