This cool DIY project got a little lost in my recent post on Grupo Habita‘s latest, Hotel Escondido, so I’m spotlighting it today. Here’s a way to add color and pattern to the floor, without the cost or maintenance of a rug. It’s a perfect solution if you have a high traffic area (hello!–foyers, kids rooms, basements, playrooms). Bonus if you live somewhere humid where a rug can get totally trashed. Most importantly, it’s budget friendly (you just need paint, vinyl or paper to create stencils, scissors, and a paint brush). Love the graphic design, it could be done in any color and would look just as awesome in a Brooklyn bedroom as it does on a porch in the Caribbean.
