Groovy Style at The Tides Beach Club in Maine

The Tides Beach Club in Kennebunkport, Maine reopened this summer with a fresh  new look for the century-old inn on the ocean. The owners teamed up with design guru Jonathan Adler to design 2 suites in his signature cheery style. The rest of the spaces are designed the way your dream beachhouse would be–relaxed and cozy with plenty of upbeat colors and lively patterns.

The Adler Suite is decked out entirely in Jonathan Adler furniture–it is a bit of an ad for his playful, color happy aesthetic. The Templeton headboard, in a cute chocolate and cream print, pops against navy painted beadboard. The Double-X Bench is upholstered in a nautical cream with blue piping. The Capri Bottle lamp has become a signature Adler piece.

Jonathan Adler has been adding loads of custom options to their line, 2 of my favorites which are shown here. The white cabinet is part of the Claude Modular System. I love how versatile it is, it could be a bar/sideboard in a living/dining room or a cool place to store jewelry/accessories/clothes.  The graphic Peter Rug can be customized in any color combo you like.

The glamorous marble and nickel Gramercy Double Sink Washstand hails from Restoration Hardware. Syrie metallic wallpaper and the Octagonal Mirror are two more fab Jonathan Adler designs.

Raffia just makes everything look beachy, even Jonathan Adler’s eye-catching Woodhouse Queen Bed.

Traditional white wicker chairs are jazzed up with a green Java Java print from China Seas.  The coral and white pillows are Edo from China Seas.  Trendy Boca Coral Lamps are from Arteriors.

The alluring lobby was designed by Tim Harrington, Jim Samson and Louise Hurlbutt. Warm taupe grasscloth walls, a leather upholstered bar, lots of mirrors to reflect light, turquoise stools for a pop of color–it’s a chic template for a warm living space.
White upholstered wing chairs nestle up to a vintage wood table–this is a cool idea for a more casual dining area, or the perfect perch for game night.

I love the nautical look of a bookshelf backed in beadboard.

If you like the look of the Tides Beach Club:

Many of the cute guest rooms at the Tides Beach Club feature the WoodHouse bed from Jonathan Adler in raffia.

Serena and Lily’s Pondicherry Headboard with nailhead trim has a similar look at a slightly lower price.

The Toulouse Velvet Headboard from Target is the best deal of all at $269.00

The Boca Coral Lamp which illuminates the Tides Beach Club guest rooms is a painted resin interpretation of coral.

Pier 1 has a VERY similar version for 1/4 of the price.

A sweet Tiffany blue ceramic garden stool from Live Like You.

Love this version of the Director’s chair by Ralph Lauren Home.

Jonathan Adler’s Syrie wallpaper looks great in the Adler Suite bathroom, but it would also be amazing on a ceiling, in closets, or in a foyer.
